Two of the biggest reasons I hear from people as to why they are apprehensive to start a home based business are self-doubt and fear. Both self-doubt and fear interfere with our ability to develop a plan of action. Rather, we reason with the voices in our heads which tell us that we will never success, so we may as well not try. It is self-doubt and fear which make it possible for these voices to convince us to give up before even starting. These are two feelings which anyone who is truly wants to be successful in home based business must exercise from their consciousness.

 

Self doubt and fear are very common. So common in fact that while many people experience self-doubt and fear at some point in their lives, they still take action. By taking action, they are able to prove to themselves that what they once doubted they are capable of, and what they once feared, they are amazing at. Conversely, others remain stagnant, and are only confident in areas of life in which they were forced to take action, such as work. Still fear overcomes them when it comes to new things such as career advancement, learning new skills, or forming new relationships.

 

If you let self-doubt and fear dictate your life, you will miss out on opportunities. When we say, "why bother" due to our predictions that nothing good will happen to us it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. This leads us to discount home based business opportunities which could help us reach our goals of financial independence.

 

Nonetheless, while self-doubt and fear come in different forms, and from different sources, we can learn to dagger them. Below are ten techniques which I have actually seen deliver massive success. 

 

1. List your fears and self-doubt one by one. By acknowledging them, you can confront and eliminate them.

2. Write down how your fears have a negative effect on your life.

3. Be conscious of those voices in your head, and expose them.

4. Build a support network of individuals who experience your same fears and self-doubt.

5. Join a support group of people who have similar issues.

6. Replace all of those negative self defeating messages and thoughts with those of affirmation and confidence. Act accordingly.

7. Read articles and books which motivate you to take action.

8. Recognize your past, and leave it there.

9. List your goals and the actions which you need to take in order achieve them.

10. Take these actions daily. Each time you accomplish something which beings you closer to your goals, your self-doubt and fear will subside.

 

Just realize that fears and self-doubts will always creep up from time to time for anyone with a home based business. Recognize that this is natural, even for the so-called gurus. The difference between them and you to this point is that they did not let fears and self-doubt keep them from taking action.
