Your work time is your time to work. This is not time for friends and family to call to help with errands or to come over and share a cup of coffee. Being at home means a certain level of freedom, but it also means you are in direct control of that freedom.
There should be a location in your home that is only for work and nothing else. This is an area that is off-limits to children and spouses. You should be able to keep your business papers undisturbed to help you stay organized.
As corporations seek to cut back on overhead costs and people find that they can work from home and still be successful, you will find that telecommuting jobs will become more prevalent. For those who like to work in their pajamas, this means increased opportunities to do so, but this is not an escape for poor performance by not completing assignments well and on time.
