Maternity leave started quite interesting. My baby was absolutely beautiful and I was enjoying my time off after working hard during the whole pregnancy. After just three months I wanted a little more from my free time. I started to think of working from home, for myself. The best idea was to have an internet shop. My baby was absolutely beautiful and I was enjoying my time off after working hard during the whole pregnancy. After just three months I wanted a little more from my free time. I started to think of working from home, for myself. The best idea was to have an internet shop. Low fees of online store gave me option of finding product that was better quality and a little more expensive than majority of products imported from China.
I didn't expect that it will take me so long to find the right product. You have to find a niche and a product that will sell without taking to much risk. My first idea was to import from Europe to Australia. I realized, that costs of shipping will be huge, but with the right products I would be able to cover it with my margin. I didn't really wanted to compromise on my values and buy stuff from Asia. Obviously I had to check Alibaba website to know what is there, but it only reassured me that I want made in Europe product. I come from Poland and I know how much attention Polish manufacturers put to producing the highest quality items. Also Poland textile production has got few hundred years of history and experience. You cannot doubt this heritage.
After few good months of online inquiries I finally found the product. I decided to import to Australia merino wool thermal wear, polypropylene thermals and down expedition sleeping bags. Both products reflected exactly what I wanted - quality. I also wanted to be able to test them myself, and being quite sport and travel orientated I knew what to expect. I was happy with my choice as both manufacturers are determined to deliver the highest technological solution.
With introduction of my new products to Australia I am bringing seamless technology, amazing fit and new European styles. The difference in comfort of wearing those thermals in comparison to the ones available in majority of Australian stores in enormous. Down sleeping bags have been tested on all 8000 meters peeks in Himalayas and used during most challenging trekking. The down used is of the highest quality goose down with self renovating proprieties.
Being at home mother gives plenty of opportunities to start your own online business. There is obviously risk involved whether your product will sell or not, but at least you are doing something for yourself. Maternity leave is the best time to reflect on what you want to do in your life and where you are at both financially and career wise.
