Utah Scentsy Consultants have a lot of competition... with each other. You're a loving bunch so it all works out, but the fact is that there are a lot of consultants in your area who are throwing parties for your warm market as often as you are - so what's happens?
The "friends" in your warm market have other friends who hostess parties, they attend and order product to help their friend. Essentially ordering Scentsy product because they are there and they love the product. So what is the solution?
Think outside of the box.
Here are a few tips you can borrow from my awesome and brilliant sister that can help to increase your product sales. These tips can keep you hopping. The downside to these tips is that they are only going to help with product sales...they are not likely to help you with building a downline, so I encourage you to turn on your creativity and keep an open mind and heart for inspiration. (You cannot build an empire based solely on product sales).
Tip #1 for Utah Scentsy Consultants: Broaden your repertoire ... do more than parties.
A few months back my Utah Scentsy Consultant sister started thinking outside the box. She began re-connecting with some of the people she used to work with at a mortgage company.
Eventually (NOTE: Never give up on people, you never know what window will open down the road.) one of her loan officer friends contacted her to see what she could do as far as putting together a really great house warming basket for the people who just got a home loan.
She did more than just think "Scentsy Products". She went to the store and put together a whole house warming basket that would please more than just her pocketbook. She thought about what she would appreciate having if someone were to give her a gift like this - what would be useful? A mop, a sponge, all purpose cleaner, and a Scentsy wall plugin with a scent to go with it, etc.
This tip isn't saying that you have to completely eliminate party throwing altogether. If my sister hadn't been inviting all of these people to the many parties she threw then they wouldn't have kept her in mind when a need arose.
So think about the people you know. Make connections with new people - especially if they are in a place to have a need that you can fill. Make sure you are thinking from their perspective and not just about make the sale.
Tip #2 for Utah Scentsy Consultants: Spread the word using your best tool...the internet.
What is Scentsy's biggest selling point? To me it is the safety of the product, especially where my children are concerned. The scent has a low melting temperature so it never gets too hot. So if my children put their fingers in it or spill it on themselves they don't get hurt...no burns! To the child it will feel warm but not enough to do any damage.
Safety is a big selling point for a lot of moms with young children. The warmers may be pretty but the bottom line is that you can get a warmer from the grocery store. You have to give people the scoop on the dangers of other warmers so that they can see the value of buying from you.
If I were a Utah Scentsy Consultant I would ask around, get some stories about people who got hurt from hot oils, or warmers that got too hot, and I would make a video showing the brands and maybe even pictures of the injuries.
Then I would show my audience the low watt light bulb, and even dip my own finger in some of the melted Scentsy was in my own warmer so they can see that it is not too hot. I would sell the warmers then give my customer a complementary sample of the most popular wax.
Be sure that you stay in touch with your customers. If they see that you care enough about them to sen a note in the mail or a personal message on Facebook, you are more likely to get their return business.
