1. List your site on directories. There are a number of free directories on the internet. You should consider submitting your site to as many of these as you can.

 

2. Link exchanges. You can exchange links with other web masters; however, you should only exchange links with sites that discuss similar topics or have similar content to yours.

 

3. Always provide quality content. Anyone can design a website relatively quickly and publish it, but is it something people will actually want to visit, read, and refer to others? If you provide your readers with quallity content, you'll receive plenty in return.

 

4. Publish articles. This is one of the top ways to receive free traffic and links back to your webpage. The content you publish should be informational and valuable to the people who read them. They will be more inclinded to visit your site if your article is interesting enough.

 

5. RSS Feeds. Submit your web page to RSS sites and syndicate the content. This allows other websites to display your content and you may get additional traffic through this method.

 

6. Posting in forums. You can add your website to your forum signature, but be sure to add value to the forum and don't just spam. If you are a spammer, your posts will be deleted and you could be banned from the forum altogether.
