You're the onion. I was working with one of my team members today. She chose door knockers to be one of her off line lead generating tactics. As we were walking up to each door I realized that the nearer we got to the door the more softly she walked. The first thought that came to me was "What's this all about"? We worked together for a little more than an hour after which I ask her if she realized just how softly she walked as we got close to each door. she answered "no, but the truth is I didn't want to disturb the people." So I ask "Why not? don't you understand that one of our objectives is to be an intermission for people?" She just looked at me with a type of bewildered expression on her face.

This is part of the subtle conditioning which breeds failure in this business. On some level some of us basically think that we are a problem instead of a remedy therefore we don't want to disturb some one. Tip toeing through the day represented how she had been conditioned to go through life, on her tip toes subtly, with out creating a peep for fear of bothering anyone.

Here in lies both the stumbling blocks and the keys to winning in this business. Most of us have been taught this way and we fail to spot that we have been tip toeing through our everyday lives in a lot of ways. Now abruptly we get in to this particular business and our purpose has become

"TO BE A DISRUPTION!"

And of course that takes some getting use to. In this article are a handful of mind sets which will support your transformation:

1. You're the resolution never the problem. If you don't make some racket about who you are and what you're up to, it's very likely that a number of wonderful people will struggle through their own lives tip toeing. They may be the people in whose life you are supposed to make a difference.

2. Get ok with being an interruption in peoples lives. That means that you get to care enough about the people you meet to help them know that the life they visualize for themselves is not just possible; but you're going to guide them along the way.

3. Commit to building your self and your people. Sometimes we are so fascinated by earning money that you've forgotten that to make money you have to serve the public. To serve the people you must make your self more valuable. Look around you...you are in an environment where the sole objective is always to grow you both as a person as well as a professional. In that order.

4. Pay attention to modest symptoms like tip toeing and bashfulness. These are typically telling you where you ought to be detaching your conditioning onion back. Get counsel on it immediately because your success is usually on the other side of the belief that is generating your reaction. Expose these emotions to your coaches when you observe them. They will be able to suggest books, tapes and strategies which will help you.

5. Recognize that this business is about re-inventing your self for success. Within your journey you will certainly encounter a number of obstacles. More often than not those obstacles are dwelling in your belief system. The re-invention concerns revealing those beliefs, throwing out the ones that aren't working, and developing a whole new belief that is consistent with your vision thats all. I know it seems complicated, but keep in mind that complicated is also part of the conditioning.

6. Do the stuff that give you the most discomfort. I learned some time ago that the more bothersome the task, the closer you're likely to be to satisfying your mission. Thats the reason it feels uncomfortable, such as getting on the phone with prospects. I am aware that it sounds peculiar and we will handle it at a later time, nevertheless for now just trust me on this one.

Your main task being a network marketer is almost always to grow people personally and professionally beginning with your self. While your re-invention progresses the power from that development will change you and the ora around you. That transforming vigor that I refer to as your ora will start to attract the individuals and the things that are consistent with the energy you are eminating. If its fearful you will attract fear, if its nervous you will attract nervousness and all of this will show up in your habits and your end results.

The reverse is also true; as you transform your beliefs into positive you will attract positive people because you improve your professionalism you can expect to sign up much higher caliber people. Courage causes courage, belief strengthens faith, activity creates activity. Its all up to you. Don't allow people to persuade you that success is about the products or the industry or the economy. Sure these things are essential however understand that businesses are not successful.
