Are you traveling in your MLM business alone? Is that what's bothering you bunkie? Well, you're not alone, in fact most mlm representatives aren't leading, most are just going for a walk. I get that you're doing everything your upline is telling you to do; but there are a few things you should know that your leaders may not tell you.

More than anything else, creating a successful MLM business is about growing you...and there are five areas of your leadership development that require your attention. A positive attitude, skill, discipline are all important, but, the five essential, and almost never mentioned, characteristics are Alignment, Alpha Leadership, Being Present, Preparation and Professionalism. You've got a business to build and people to lead, so lets get to it!

Since we're all acustomed to "A" being the start...its as good a place as any to begin. So, "Alignment" is a word we seldom use when speaking of the subject of leadership. But it is critical to your business success. What needs to be aligned is the real question, and how does this whole alignment thing work??

I found music to be a good analogy. Liken it to a musical score; there are different notes and instruments all carefully orchestrated to perform a beautiful melody. Any note struck out of harmony with the melody we would consider to be a "sour" note. Not because of the note itself, but because it is out of "alignment" with the melody.

Your vision is the melody you want to play. Your plan of action and goals are the score. Mind and body would be the instruments and your own beliefs, thought s and emotions are the notes being played. Alignment would be the harmonious blend of your vision, written goals, action plan, belief, thoughts and emotions carefully orchestrated to perform the melody you intend.

The second characteristic..."Alpha" ... (the first letter of the Greek alphabet) has to do with posture. An alpha persona...is simply the air of confidence one exude when they are extremely secure in their ability and identity. Just like animals can sense fear, people can since your doubt. No one will follow a leader who is not supremely confident in his/her ability to lead. As you develop your alpha personality you will be followed from b to z. Get it b to z??......O-kkk

A wandering mind leads to procrastination which leads to hours of wasted time. "Being Bresent" is the trait that allows you to focus your attention on the business at hand in the moment it is at hand. That level of focused concentration that causes you to be completely available to the task in the moment it needs you most. If you want to be an effective leader..BE PRESENT!

Are you mentally and emotionally "Prepared"? Why is this important?? Because in all honesty the vast majority of people you meet will not have the characteristics you want in a business partner. This is the importance of "preparation". It is the mental and emotional toughness to meet and overcome all obstacles and a must trait if you expect to succeed not only in this business...but in any business.

Lastly, by most peoples definition "professional" is any one who gets paid for their talent, service and expertise. Yet we all know people who are getting paid and are considered very un-professional. You might be able to get away with that if it doesn't require the trust and confidence of other people. But leadership implies that there will be someone behind you with some level of expectation particularly when you're involved in an mlm or network marketing business. That level of expectation has to do with the way you present your self, handle your business and your people. Unless your presentation is aligned with professionalism, don't expect people to follow you far.

Developing these characteristics will no doubt challenging. But the journey we undertake in our quest for success and fulfillment is meant to test us and to challenge us and in the end to mold us into something we can be proud of.
