Business Opportunities - Find What Has Been Overlooked

Contemporary wisdom states that the best business opportunities arise when you follow your passion and find a small neglected niche. One by one you go down your lists of interests feeding search words and phrases into a free site that will tell you how often these keywords have been searched over a period of about a month. If enough people have been searching in your area of interest then there is a big enough market to for an online business to tap into.

The problem with searching for a unique niche in an area you have an interest in, is that finding it (which is difficult enough) is only a small part of what you need to do.  Once you have your niche you have to research your target market, to make sure your promotions are reaching people who truly have an interest in your product or service.  Then you have to find out what your target markets hot buttons are.  Do they want luxury, convenience or great bargains?  The solution?

Instead of trying to reach a niche market that has to be educated about your offer and convinced that they need it, pick an established market that is already familiar with your concept.

New concepts take time to educate the public about.  Once they are reasonably familiar with the concept they have to be convinced that they need it.  That's a pretty tough sale considering they've been doing very well without it up to now.

Established businesses have already spent time and money finding their target market and analyzing their needs and hot buttons.  Take advantage of their hard work and expensive research.  All you have to do is to perform a search in one of your interest areas and bookmark the top sites.

Then you can use the free keyword search sites to find out how much demand there is.  It's a pretty safe bet that the market is far from saturated given the size of the Internet world.  Choose the top (highest number of searches done) keywords and phrases and perform a search for the top sites.  Add any sites that did not come up in your original search to your bookmarked research folder.

All you need to do is to make modifications to the service or product that will make it even more appealing than it already is.  You can make it cheaper, faster, easier to use or even just more convenient.

Combine a little research with some creative thinking, and you can tap into rewarding business opportunities which have been overlooked by others.

Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
